City on a Hill

14 "Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. 15 If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. 16 Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand - shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

For the past week or so, I have been at our national meeting at the Lake Las Vegas Resort. The beautiful mountain terrain that can be clearly seen on the other side of the lake is nothing less than a truly majestic site. As a Christ follower, your life will be exposed for many others to see similar to the mountains here on the other side of Lake Mead that stand at attention for all to admire and most likely be inspired. What will/do people see when they see your life? Do they see a true reflection of the love of your Savior who lives inside? Draw near to God today as you give your life away to others, for they are watching and yearning for just a glimpse of something truly majestic that can be found in God’s love as you reflect His image to the world around you. Let your light shine today as you live your life for the King.
