Fear

They left that place and passed through Galilee. Jesus did not want anyone to know where they were, because he was teaching his disciples. He said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be delivered over to human hands. He will be killed, and after three days he will rise." But they did not understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him about it.

Mark 9:30-32

The disciples were afraid to inquire about such a radical plan that Jesus was discussing with them about death and sacrifice and then rising from the dead. Later, they would know exactly what Jesus was describing here as they were part of the plan and would testify about Jesus to the nations. You may be fearful today of the plan that God has laid out for you? You may be afraid to inquire of God, fearful of what his response might be or fearful of what role he may want you to play in this life. Let me share a comforting word with you this morning if this describes you and if fear is dominating your life today – the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is alive and active and available for you today in order that God could carry out His plan for your life effectively for His kingdom and glory. Rest, trust and submit to God’s Spirit today who lives inside of your heart of hearts because He knows exactly what you need and is here today to carry you through the storm. His love will lead and guide and comfort you - His love will never let you go!
