Lord of All

35 While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked, "Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David? 36 David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared:
" 'The Lord said to my Lord:
"Sit at my right hand
until I put your enemies
under your feet." ' [h]
37 David himself calls him 'Lord.' How then can he be his son?"
The large crowd listened to him with delight.

Mark 12:35-37

Jesus was implying here by this question to the Jews whom He was teaching in the temple courts that He, the Messiah, was much more than just a descendant of David but that the Messiah was indeed the Son of God, the Lord of all creation. All who call themselves Christ followers are in a sense surrendering the control and ownership of their lives to Jesus Christ. The dictionary defines “Lord” as: “A person who has authority, control, or power over others; a master, chief, or ruler.” If you call yourself a Christ follower and claim to have a relationship with Jesus, then Jesus should be the Lord of everything that you say and do. Your decision making for even the smallest decisions should be based on discerning the best choice that you can make in regards to how that decision will affect your relationship with Jesus Christ. You are not your own, you have been bought with a price and Jesus Christ is the Lord of your life if indeed you have accepted His awesome gift of love into your heart and life. When the world looks at you do they see Jesus? Surrender to His Lordship today as you rest in His love and live your life for the King!
