The Great Commission

As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.

Mark 5:18-20

There is a reason that you and I as Christ followers are still here on this earth. Even though your heart, deep down inside, longs for a better place where your relationship with God will be made perfect and you will be able to enjoy His presence and love in perfect peace and harmony, there is still work to be done here in this fallen world. You see, Jesus wants you to live to tell of how He has redeemed your heart, shown you mercy, and is transforming your life back to its original glory in Him. There are many others who need to hear about the redeeming love of our creator. There are hurt, lonely and lost people in this world, with many of whom you come into contact every day, who are crying out, deep in their heart of hearts, for the freedom and joy that comes in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Tell these people today about all that God has done for you; tell them about His great love and mercy and compassion and peace and joy that He so freely gives to all who surrender their lives to Him. May your life be a living testimony today of God’s love and grace!
