He Is

60 Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?" 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?" 62 "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." 63 The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses?" he asked. 64 "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him as worthy of death. 65 Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, "Prophesy!" And the guards took him and beat him.

Mark 14:60-65

Jesus, knowing the hearts of those who were accusing Him and knowing what was about to happen, simply answered, “I am.” There is something that is very soothing to me about those two words by Jesus. “He is” the Creator of the Heavens and earth. “He is” our hope for salvation and for peace and for abundant life here on this earth. “He is” everything that we will ever need to be happy. “He is” our Healer and the transformer of our hearts. “He is” the one who guides and directs and the one who is in control of everything that happens today. “He is” our Lover and our Friend and the one who sat in front of these men having done absolutely nothing wrong, knowing the humiliation and pain that He was about to bear and He sat there and let it happen ever so graciously, all on account of your sin and my sin in order that we could once again have a relationship with God, forever. How could you not want to follow Him today and how could you not want to receive His love and walk in His grace and live your life for Him? He is worthy and He is waiting for you to accept Him into your heart of hearts – ask Him now and He will respond, and your life will never be the same.
